Quasar by Butterflylove1 (Knit) - An active galactic nucleus (quasar), i.e., a supermassive black hole at the center of a galaxy, that has a very luminous and hot disc of gas around it (the accretion disc). You can make the disc any colours, but I like to use a rainbow (blue on the inside, red on the outside) because this represents the temperature profile of the disc: hot on the inside, cool on the outside. Tip: I use 3 mm needles for DK because my accretion disc kept curling into itself.
Centaurus A by Liz George (Crochet) - The active galactic nucleus of Centaurus A, a very close active galaxy. Its main features are highly energetic radio jets emitted by the black hole, which are depicted in this piece. This pattern is based on this ESO image of Centaurus A.
Amigurumi Moon by Butterflylove1 (Knit) - The moon! With craters! The moon is knitted flat in one piece, sewn up, and the craters are embroidered on. Depending on the yarn/needle size used, this can be made into quite a unit.
